Civil Protection units also intervened to extinguish two urban fires in the provinces of Algiers and Batna. The first incident involved a fire in a commercial shop on the ground floor of a 15-story building (ground floor + 14) in the Dar El Beida municipality and district (Algiers province), resulting in one person suffering various burns and another experiencing breathing difficulties. The second incident involved a fire in a first-floor apartment of a three-story building (ground floor + 2) in the “Chouhada” neighborhood of Batna municipality and district, causing four people to suffer from breathing difficulties. Additionally, one drowning fatality was recorded in the sea in Tipaza province; the victim was a 32-year-old man who drowned in a rocky area known as “Koucha”—a location where swimming is prohibited—within the Tipaza municipality and district.
