The Director General of Civil Protection is monitoring the firefighting operations that broke out at the Emergency Childcare Institution located in the municipality of Mohammadia.

Following the fire that broke out at the Dar Al-Aytam Orphanage in the municipality of Mohammadia, El Harrach district, the Civil Protection services intervened at 3:32 AM to extinguish the blaze. 10 fire trucks, 16 ambulances, 02 ladder trucks, and the GRIMP (Ground Rock Intervention Unit) were deployed.

In response to this tragedy, the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughlaf, went to the scene to oversee the firefighting operations and monitor the efforts of the Civil Protection personnel and other responding services.

11 deaths were recorded, and 19 injured individuals were treated and transported to a safe location. The injured included:

-10 people with burns of varying severity.

-02 people suffering from respiratory distress.

-07 people in a state of shock.

05 people with special needs were also taken to a safe location.
