High-Rise Buildings
Decree 35/76 of February 20, 1976, ensuring security against fire and panic in high-rise buildings.
There will be buildings of high height, each building in which there is a distance between the lower floor of the last floor of the tallest residence and the land designated for the passage of rescue and fire-fighting vehicles “PBDN”.
More than 50 meters for residential buildings.
More than 28 meters for other buildings (administration, banks….).
Classification of high-rise buildings:
GHA: High-rise residential buildings.
GHO: High-rise hotel buildings.
GHS: High-rise buildings for archives and libraries.
GHU: Dedicated or elevated buildings for health institutions.
GHW1: Office buildings 28 m <PBDN < and equal to 50 m.
GHW2: PBDN office buildings over 50 m
GHZ: Buildings with various functional uses and exceeding 28 m
Construction conditions:
The building has a high height and is constructed 3 km from the Civil Protection Unit.
The building has a high height that prohibits classified establishments (except parking lots) in accordance with applicable laws. The presence of flammable materials is prohibited, and the storage and use of solid, gaseous or liquid flammable materials is prohibited.
To ensure the protection of residents and the vicinity of the high-rise building, security principles must be respected, which are as follows:
01/ So that the fire hazard is not allowed to spread, it must:
Fractionation with fire cutting walls at a degree of 2 hours.
Reducing and identifying flammable materials.
GHW1 Evacuation via at least two stair cages (02) while it does not apply to high height buildings classified in .
Providing elevators with a system that prevents stopping on the floor exposed to fire
02/ The building consists of:
* One or more receiving electrical outlets designated for treating faults used in regular services when necessary.
* Alarm system and fire-fighting equipment are at the disposal of their users.
03/ In the event that part of the building is damaged or exposed to danger, the continuity of operation of the elevators and weightlifters must be ensured on all floors and undamaged parts.
04/ Establishing a system that prevents smoke from passing from the affected areas to the affected areas and to other areas of the building.
05/ Communication between the various parts and drawers. Smoke silencer devices must be ensured in a closed state and allow for quick smoke discharge.
A high-rise building must meet a set of building rules and equipment aimed at limiting the spread of fire from one floor to another and ensuring easy and rapid evacuation of the public. Resolution No. 149 of July 15, 1976, which specifies security rules for high-rise buildings, includes general rules common to all high-rise buildings and rules specific to each category (IGHA, IGHO… .
Regulations applicable to public institutions may also apply to high-rise buildings.
