Civil Protection Units intervention results between September 6 and 7, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

   During the period from September 6th to 7th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,719 interventions, averaging one intervention every 23 seconds. These included 2,008 medical evacuations and 528 other operations, across several provinces of the country, following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 212 interventions following numerous accidents across the country. These accidents resulted in 5 fatalities at the scene and injuries to 281 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals.

Civil Protection services intervened to extinguish four separate urban fires in the provinces of Blida, Mila, Annaba, and Illizi. These fires resulted in one person sustaining first-degree burns and another suffering from respiratory distress. The first fire occurred in a carpentry workshop in a ground-floor residence in the Fetal neighborhood of Ouled Yaïch municipality and district, Blida province. Additionally, six people suffered respiratory distress in a fire that broke out in a third-floor apartment of a three-story building on Ahmed Bouskine Street in Ferdjioua municipality and district, Mila province. The victims received necessary first aid and were transported to local health facilities. Our emergency services successfully contained these fires and prevented their spread to neighboring areas.

Civil Protection services also intervened to extinguish four separate urban fires in the provinces of Blida, Mila, Annaba, and Illizi. A gas explosion followed by a fire on the first floor of a two-story residential building in the El Fath neighborhood of Bechar municipality and district resulted in second-degree burns to two people. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transferred to the local hospital.

Civil Protection services in Oran also responded to the collapse of a second-floor ceiling in an old two-story residential building on Thabet Mohamed Kavignac Street in Oran municipality and district. The incident resulted in the death of a 70-year-old woman. Her body was taken to the morgue at the local hospital.

Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the last 24 hours, they carried out 633 interventions, rescuing 441 people from imminent drowning and providing first aid to 174 people on site. Additionally, 17 people were transferred to local health centers. One person drowned at sea off the Aftis beach in the municipality and district of El Aouana, Jijel Province. The victim’s body was transferred to the local hospital.

Furthermore, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 28 vegetation fires, including: 2 forest fires, 3 brush fires, 7 scrubland fires, 9 fruit tree fires, 5 hay bale fires, and 2 palm tree fires, across several provinces nationwide. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
