Launching a specialized training course in the art of cinematography for members of the “Triangle of Life” group and for civil protection photographers
As part of the General Directorate of Civil Protection’s annual program and in line with its strategy to develop skills and strengthen institutional communication, the “Triangle of Life” Cultural and Artistic Association of Civil Protection, in coordination with the Algerian Center for Cinematography, is organizing a specialized training course in cinematography for members of the “Triangle of Life” group and Civil Protection photographers who are also members of the “Triangle of Life” group.
This initiative falls within a vision aimed at raising professionalism in the field of audiovisual production and developing human resource skills. It supports the artistic and creative path of the Civil Protection’s Triangle of Life troupe by enhancing its capabilities in theater, film, and artistic production. The initiative empowers its members to acquire writing, directing, acting, cinematography, and audiovisual production techniques, enabling them to produce professional artistic works with an educational and humanitarian message that embodies the values of citizenship and solidarity. It also aims to develop the competencies of human resources responsible for documenting the various activities and operational interventions of the Civil Protection, keeping pace with the rapid development of modern media and communication tools. This will enhance the quality of media and institutional content, highlight the efforts and sacrifices made by the Civil Protection in protecting people and property, and support awareness and prevention messages, thereby instilling a culture of safety among citizens.
The training program includes a number of key modules, covering lighting techniques, the fundamentals of image composition and capture, sound recording techniques, and editing, along with practical field applications. This is all conducted under the supervision of specialists and experts in the film and audiovisual fields, enabling participants to acquire technical and artistic skills according to established professional standards.
This project is not limited to training alone; it represents the actual launch of an ambitious project aimed at creating a specialized film crew from among civil protection personnel. This crew will produce professional audiovisual works that reflect the realities of the profession, document various field interventions, and convey the humanitarian and awareness-raising messages undertaken by the institution using modern artistic methods.
In this context, a series of specialized workshops in various film professions will be organized for Civil Protection personnel belonging to the “Triangle of Life” unit and for photographers in the sector. This will be followed by a creative residency led by a script development specialist (Script Doctor) to develop short films inspired by true stories of heroism experienced by Civil Protection personnel during their field interventions. The best script will be selected for production in the second phase of the project, through specialized practical workshops, allowing for the creation of institutional films that reflect the values of sacrifice, professionalism, and commitment that characterize members of the Civil Protection.
To conclude this training course, a partnership and cooperation agreement will be signed between the “Triangle of Life” Cultural and Artistic Association for Civil Protection and the National Center for Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts. This agreement aims to establish a permanent framework for cooperation in the areas of training, mentoring, artistic and technical exchange, and the development of film and audiovisual projects with an awareness-raising and institutional focus. This will contribute to building national expertise capable of producing professional content that serves the mission of the Civil Protection and recognizes the efforts of its personnel.
This initiative confirms the General Directorate of Civil Protection’s commitment to adopting the latest methods of institutional communication, investing in human competencies, and employing audiovisual media as an effective tool for documenting the operational memory of the institution, consolidating a culture of prevention, and enhancing the image of civil protection in the eyes of the public.
