Civil Protection Units intervention results between July 5 and 11, 2026 (weekly results)

  Between July 5th and 11th, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 31,298 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.

Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,376 interventions, during which 14,015 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 2,781 incidents involving 1,549 traffic accidents, resulting in 37 deaths and 1,830 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest number of casualties was recorded in Skikda province, with 4 deaths at the scene and 48 injuries in 34 traffic accidents.

Civil Protection units also carried out 6,362 interventions, extinguishing 4,418 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in Algiers province (248 fires), Setif (227 fires), and Blida (187 fires).

Furthermore, during the same period, our units carried out 7,779 interventions across various operations, rescuing 478 people in danger and providing 6,681 emergency medical services.

Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, it carried out 6,030 interventions, enabling the rescue of 4,908 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 1,550 people on site. Additionally, 285 people were transferred to local health centers. Twelve people drowned at sea, and four drowned in other bodies of water.

Furthermore, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 736 vegetation fires, including 46 forest fires, 21 scrubland fires, 104 brush fires, 265 crop fires, 106 fruit tree fires, 166 hay bale fires, and 28 palm tree fires, across several provinces of the country. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
