Civil Protection Units intervention results between July 29 and 30, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

Between July 29 and 30, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 4,303 interventions, averaging one intervention every 20 seconds. These included 2,217 medical evacuations and 485 other operations across several provinces nationwide, following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 179 interventions following numerous accidents across the country. These accidents resulted in 5 fatalities at the scene and injuries to 222 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site medical treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection intervened to extinguish two urban fires in the provinces of Bejaia and Batna. The most serious fire occurred in Batna, resulting in the death of a two-year-old infant and injuries to six people suffering from respiratory distress. The fire broke out in a first-floor apartment of a two-story building in the area known as “Machta Jriat,” in the municipality of El Kasbat, Ras El Aioun district. The victims received initial treatment at the scene and were then transferred to the local health center.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the last 24 hours, they carried out 1,041 interventions, rescuing 735 people from imminent drowning and providing first aid to 265 people on site. Additionally, 41 people were transferred to local health centers. One death was recorded: a 39-year-old man drowned in the sea in a rocky area (where swimming is prohibited) in the municipality of Ain Tagourait, Bou Ismail district, Tipaza province. The victim’s body was transferred to the morgue of the local hospital by Civil Protection personnel.
Likewise, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 34 fires of vegetation cover, including: 6 forest fires, 3 bush fires, 4 scrubland fires, 1 agricultural crop fire, 8 fruit tree fires, 9 hay belt fires and 3 palm fires, across several states of the national territory. It is worth mentioning that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to the rest of the vegetation cover.
