Civil Protection Units intervention results between February 10 and 11, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

During the period from February 10th to 11th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,422 interventions (an average of one intervention every 25 seconds), including 2,328 medical evacuations and 550 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 148 incidents across several provinces nationwide. These accidents resulted in 6 fatalities at the scene and 165 injuries of varying severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in Tebessa province, where 2 people died and 1 was injured in a collision between a car and a truck on National Route 10, in the area known as El Khanga, in the municipality of Bekaria, El Kouif district.

Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 3 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes in the provinces of Setif, Constantine, and M’Sila. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported to local health centers.

For your information, the Civil Protection intervened to extinguish three separate urban fires in the provinces of Boumerdès, Médéa, and Relizane. These fires resulted in four people suffering from respiratory distress in Boumerdès province, following a fire that broke out in a second-floor apartment of a three-story building (ground floor + 3 floors) located in the city center of Ouled Hedadj municipality, Boudouaou district. Additionally, four people suffered respiratory distress in Médéa province, following a fire in a residence located in the Kasmaoui neighborhood of Ain Boucif municipality and district. The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred to local hospitals. Our services’ intervention enabled us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to neighboring areas.

Likewise, the Civil Protection units of the state of Ghardaia intervened following a leak of city gas from the main pipe, followed by a fire during the work, on National Road No. 1, in the municipality and district of Ghardaia. One person was injured with third-degree burns. The victim was treated at the scene and then transferred to the local hospital. Our services’ intervention enabled us to extinguish this fire and prevent the gas leak.
