Civil Protection Units intervention results between February 22 and 23, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

During the period from February 22 to 23, 2026 (until 8:00 am), civil protection units recorded 2,701 interventions at a rate of (01 intervention every 32 seconds), including 2,045 health evacuations and 337 different operations, across several states of the country, following receiving distress calls from citizens. These interventions included various areas of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, domestic accidents, health evacuations, Fire suppression as well as security services.
In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection Units carried out 178 interventions following several accidents recorded across several provinces of the country, which left 3 people dead at the scene of the accidents and 201 others injured with various and varying degrees of severity. The victims were taken care of at the scene of the accidents and transferred by our services to local hospitals. The deadliest accidents were recorded in the provinces of Mila, Mostaganem and Relizane, at the level of the province of Mila: 01 child died (age 04 years) and 01 person was injured with various injuries, as a result of a collision between a car and a truck, at the level of the road “Mashta Al-Makhoud”, the municipality of Ain El-Tin, the district of Mila, at the level of the state of Mostaganem: 01 person died and 01 others were injured with various injuries, as a result of a collision between two cars, at the level of State Road No. 49, Hassi Mamash Municipality and District, Relizane Province: 01 person died After being run over by an agricultural tractor, in the place called Ouled Kaddour roundabout, Warizan municipality, Arhio Valley district.
The civil protection services of the state of Algiers also intervened to provide first aid to (02) two people who suffocated as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide (CO) gas emitted from the water heater inside their home on Al-Ikhwa Bashra Street, Kasbah Municipality, where the two victims were taken care of at the scene of the accident and transferred to Local hospital.
For your information, the Civil Protection Units intervened to extinguish 03 different urban fires in each of the states of Algeria (02) two fires and Chlef 01 fire. These fires left behind the death of a 62-year-old woman as a result of a fire that broke out inside a room in a place called Sidi Issa, Taouqrit Municipality and District, Chlef State. The victim was transferred to the morgue of the local hospital.
