Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 21 and 27, 2026 (weekly results)

Between June 21 and 27, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 30,215 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,824 interventions, during which 14,470 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,551 interventions for 1,423 traffic accidents, resulting in 34 deaths and 1,772 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in the province of M’Sila, with 4 deaths at the scene and 48 injuries in 37 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also carried out 5,014 interventions, extinguishing 3,577 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in the province of Algiers (249 fires), Constantine (225 fires), and Blida (153 fires).
In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 7,826 interventions in various operations, rescuing 477 people in danger and providing 6,920 emergency medical services.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, it carried out 4,199 interventions, enabling the rescue of 2,927 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 1,054 people on site. Additionally, 216 people were transferred to local health centers. Six people drowned at sea, and five drowned in water bodies.
Furthermore, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 490 vegetation fires, including 16 forest fires, 13 brush fires, 36 scrubland fires, 230 crop fires, 63 fruit tree fires, 105 hay bale fires, and 27 palm tree fires, across several provinces nationwide. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
