Launch of the preliminary selection process for the Rough Terrain Search and Intervention Unit (GRIMP)

As part of the strategy adopted by the General Directorate of Civil Protection—which aims to enhance operational capabilities and boost the field readiness of specialized teams through intensified training and practical exercises—the Civil Protection Director of Tindouf Province oversaw the launch of the preliminary selection process for the Search and Intervention in Difficult Terrain (GRIMP) unit. This process is being conducted under the supervision and guidance of specialized officers and personnel from the General Directorate of Civil Protection.
The initiative aims to select qualified personnel to join the unit and to develop their technical, physical, and operational capabilities. This preparation will enable them to handle various field scenarios, particularly search, rescue, and intervention operations in rugged terrain and hard-to-reach areas.
This initiative is part of the ongoing efforts by the General Directorate of Civil Protection to qualify its specialized teams and enhance their field competencies, thereby ensuring rapid and effective intervention to address various emergencies and protect lives and property.
