Prevention of the risk of drowning in dams, valleys and water reservoirs
Avoid swimming in dams, valleys, reservoirs, and lakes, as they are extremely dangerous.
Even the most skilled swimmers can drown due to the heavy water, which tires swimmers, and the abundance of weeds, algae, and mud that makes visibility impossible and hinders swimming. The inevitable result is drowning in the depths of the dam’s water and mud.
Supervise children and do not allow them to play near or approach bodies of water to prevent drowning accidents.
Avoid swimming in bodies of water not designated for this activity, such as dams, agricultural ponds, and irrigation canals.
The General Directorate of Civil Protection has made the green number 1021 or the emergency number 14 available to citizens to report any danger, specifying the nature of the danger and the exact address in order to ensure a quick and effective intervention.
