Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 30 and July 1, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

Between June 30 and July 1, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,819 interventions (an average of one intervention every 22 seconds), including 1,969 medical evacuations and 621 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 154 interventions following numerous accidents across the country. These accidents resulted in 4 fatalities at the scene and injuries to 150 others of varying severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection services intervened to extinguish five urban, industrial, and other fires in the provinces of Oran, Annaba, Tizi Ouzou, Boumerdès, and Bordj Bou Arreridj, with no reported casualties. Our emergency services successfully contained these fires and prevented their spread to neighboring areas.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service over the past 24 hours, they carried out 608 interventions, rescuing 420 people from drowning and providing first aid to 162 people on site. Additionally, 26 people were transferred to local health centers. One 17-year-old boy drowned in the sea at the rocky area known as Loubar (a beach where swimming is prohibited), in the municipality and district of Tigzirt, Tizi Ouzou province. The victim’s body was transferred to the morgue of the local hospital.
Likewise, the Forest and Agricultural Crops Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 49 vegetation fires, including: 1 forest fire, 2 bush fires, 4 scrubland fires, 24 agricultural crop fires, 10 fruit tree fires, 6 hay bale fires, and 2 palm tree fires, across several states of the national territory. It is worth mentioning that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to the rest of the vegetation.
