The security apparatus deployed to secure the legislative elections of 2 July 2026
As part of the preparations for securing the legislative elections scheduled for Thursday, July 2, 2026, the General Directorate of Civil Protection has mobilized a comprehensive operational and preventative apparatus. It has taken a series of proactive measures to ensure the smooth conduct of this national event in safe conditions.
In this context, the technical prevention services of the General Directorate of Civil Protection, in coordination with municipal services, technical directors, provincial public affairs departments, and local administration directorates, have begun conducting preventative and security visits to halls and public spaces that hosted various campaign rallies and events, as well as all polling stations across the country.
These visits aim to verify the readiness of the various facilities concerned, ensure their compliance with legally stipulated safety and security requirements, and provide the necessary guidance and recommendations to address any potential shortcomings.
The agents assigned to the polling centers and offices also carry out regular monitoring patrols to ensure that all prevention and safety measures are respected and implemented.
To secure this national appointment, the General Directorate of Civil Protection deployed an operational force consisting of approximately 20,000 intervention agents at various ranks, supported by material means including 653 ambulances and 588 fire trucks, to ensure the safety and security of citizens and property at the level of all polling stations. Additional human and material capabilities have also been harnessed to accompany mobile polling offices, especially in the southern states and remote areas, to ensure comprehensive operational coverage of these offices.
Moreover, this operational apparatus has been strengthened with all the human and material capabilities of the civil protection operational units, with the installation of command centers at the level of the main units across the various states, which undertake field follow-up and continuous coordination to ensure immediate intervention when necessary, in order to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of this important national event.
