National People’s Assembly Inquiry Committee Visits the General Directorate of Civil Protection
✅ The Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughelouf, received today at the General Directorate headquarters members of the National People’s Assembly’s inquiry committee, headed by Mr. Mohamed Rabah, Chairman of the Committee on Legal and Administrative Affairs, Human Rights, Local Organization, Regional Planning, and Territorial Division. This visit was undertaken at the behest of Mr. Azzouz Nasseri, President of the National People’s Assembly, and in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, particularly Article 137 (paragraph 2), and Articles 50 and 51 of the National People’s Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, as part of their ongoing program of field visits. Senior officials from the General Directorate were also present.
✅ At the beginning of the visit, the Director General welcomed the delegation members, commending this initiative, which falls within the framework of strengthening institutional coordination and consultation. He then delivered a speech highlighting the pivotal role of Civil Protection in protecting people and property, as well as its continuous efforts to develop intervention capabilities and modernize its equipment, thereby enhancing the sector’s readiness to confront various hazards.
✅ Following this, a presentation was given on the administrative and operational organization of the General Directorate, followed by a visit to the National Coordination Center. There, the delegation was briefed on the various digital platforms and applications used in managing intervention and disaster response operations, as well as the coordination mechanisms between units across the country, ensuring a rapid and effective response.
✅ The visit also included the Civil Protection Museum, where committee members learned about the history of the sector and the various stages it has undergone, along with the most significant milestones and achievements that reflect the development of this vital agency.
✅ The visit will conclude with a visit to the National Training and Intervention Unit, where the delegation will receive comprehensive explanations of the various operational specializations and modern technologies used in training and intervention, enhancing the readiness of personnel to face various hazards.
✅ The committee members commended the level of organization and professionalism that characterizes the Civil Protection services, praising the efforts made to protect people and property at both the local and international levels.
