Civil Protection Units intervention results between April 19 and 25, 2026 (weekly results)

Between April 19 and 25, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 27,435 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 17,105 interventions, during which 17,002 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,410 interventions for 1,324 traffic accidents, resulting in 32 deaths and 1,747 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in the province of Tamanrasset, with 4 deaths at the scene and 25 injuries in 6 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also carried out 1,132 interventions, extinguishing 689 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (73 fires), Oran (53 fires), and Blida (33 fires).
In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 6,788 interventions in various operations, rescuing 740 people in danger and providing 5,786 ambulance services.
Regarding incidents related to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from various heating appliances and water heaters, the Civil Protection services carried out 14 interventions during the same period, which allowed for the provision of first aid to 21 people poisoned by carbon monoxide (CO), who were then transferred to hospital facilities, with the death of 01 person poisoned by carbon monoxide in the state of Khenchela.
