In commemoration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work, observed on April 28, 2026, the General Directorate of Civil Protection will host events organized by TotalEnergies. This initiative aims to strengthen partnership and cooperation in occupational risk prevention and promote safety principles in the workplace.
This event is part of national efforts to cultivate a culture of prevention and reduce workplace accidents. It will enable TotalEnergies employees to enhance their knowledge and practical skills in occupational safety and health by leveraging the extensive field experience of the Civil Protection services, renowned for their high level of competence in protecting people and property and responding to emergencies.
The event will feature a rich and comprehensive program combining theoretical and practical aspects, led by specialized personnel. This program will include, in particular:
• Theoretical presentations on the principles of occupational risk prevention, workplace risk analysis, and the importance of rapid and effective accident response. • Practical first aid workshops, covering how to care for the injured and intervene in emergencies before the arrival of rescue teams.
• Field exercises on fire prevention and control, focusing on petroleum and gas fires, methods of controlling them using basic means, and safe evacuation techniques.
• An awareness workshop on earthquake risks, aimed at promoting preventative behaviors and proper conduct before, during, and after earthquakes.
• Field demonstrations of the intervention equipment and resources used by the Civil Protection, including modern firefighting and rescue equipment.
This event will also provide a platform for exchanging experiences and expertise among Civil Protection professionals and staff, thus strengthening collaboration among the various stakeholders in prevention and risk management.
Interactive spaces will be organized for participants, allowing them to directly observe modern intervention techniques, try out some first aid and firefighting equipment, and receive practical explanations of preventative behaviors to follow in various emergency situations. This will reinforce acquired knowledge and translate it into daily practices within the workplace. By hosting this event, the General Directorate of Civil Protection reaffirms its ongoing commitment to supporting economic institutions and providing the necessary technical and training assistance, thereby contributing to increased preparedness and enhanced occupational safety and health standards in accordance with best practices.
This event underscores the importance of partnership between the public and private sectors in promoting a culture of prevention and reinforces the collective awareness that safety is a shared responsibility requiring the involvement of everyone—individuals and institutions alike—to mitigate risks, protect lives and property, and foster a safe and sustainable work environment.
