International training course in disaster medicine

 Within the framework of strengthening international cooperation in the field of civil protection and emergency management, the Algerian General Directorate of Civil Protection, in cooperation with the International Civil Protection Organization (OIPC), is organizing an international training course in disaster medicine, from October 26 to 30, 2025, for the benefit of civil protection doctors coming from member states, such as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Sudan, Benin, Senegal, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
This course, which is being organized in Algeria, comes within the ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening the medical and operational capabilities of paramedics and those involved in the first lines of confronting major disasters, whether natural or technological, and whose launch will be supervised by the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Bouglaf.
The training program includes specialized scientific lectures, applied workshops, and simulations of disaster intervention operations, supervised by experts from Algerian Civil Protection specializing in disaster medicine and major risk management. The course activities include the following topics:
• Coordination and organization between various sectors in rescue operations;
• Medical chain for disaster ambulance;
• Implementation of emergency plans;
• Disaster medical logistics;
• Communication and contact during crises.
This initiative reflects Algeria’s firm commitment, through the Civil Protection Agency, to sharing its recognized expertise and experience in the field of crisis management and response to major disasters, which contributes to strengthening solidarity and capabilities at the regional and international levels.
This session also provides a space for exchange of expertise and cooperation between doctors and officials from various civil protection agencies, enhancing the development of joint action in the field of effective emergency preparation and response at the regional and international levels.
