Civil Protection Units intervention results between April 5 and 11, 2026 (weekly results)

  

During the period from April 5 to 11, 2026, civil protection units recorded 26,706 interventions following the receipt of distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, domestic incidents, health evacuation, fire extinguishing, or security services’ coverage of various demonstrations.

Regarding health evacuation operations, our units carried out 16,245 interventions, during which 16,209 wounded and sick people were treated and evacuated to hospitals by civil protection agents.

In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection Units carried out 2,493 interventions for 1,387 traffic accidents that led to the death of 42 people and the injury of 1,655 others who were treated and transferred to hospitals. The heaviest toll recorded in the state of In Saleh was the death of 4 people at the scene of the accidents and the injury of 6 others as a result of 3 traffic accidents.

The Civil Protection Units also carried out 1,328 interventions that allowed the extinguishing of 820 fires, including domestic, industrial and various fires, the most important of which were recorded in the state of Algiers with 63 fires, Biskra with 43 fires and Oran with 40 fires.

In addition, during the same period, our units in the field of various operations carried out 6,640 interventions in order to rescue 560 people in danger and cover 5,707 ambulance operations.

Regarding incidents related to carbon monoxide (Co) poisoning emitted from various heating and water heaters, the Civil Protection Services carried out 22 interventions during the same period, which allowed the provision of first aid to 43 people poisoned with carbon monoxide (Co) gas, who were then transferred to hospitals With the death of 02 people poisoned by carbon monoxide gas recorded in the states of Constantine 01 person and Tlemcen 01 person.
