Civil Protection Units intervention results between December 10 and 11, 2025 (in the last 24 hours)
During the period from December 10 to 11, 2025 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,353 interventions (an average of one intervention every 26 seconds), including 2,504 medical evacuations and 494 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 155 incidents across several provinces nationwide. These accidents resulted in 8 fatalities at the scene and 165 injuries of varying severity. The victims received on-site medical attention and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in the province of Bejaia, where 1 person died and 1 was injured when a car veered off the road in the area known as Yarkab, in the municipality of Boujellil, Tazmalt district.
Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 6 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty water heaters and heating appliances in their homes. These incidents occurred in the provinces of Bejaia (2), Setif (2), Constantine (1), and Tebessa (1). The victims received on-site medical attention and were then transported to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection intervened to extinguish 05 urban and different fires in the provinces of Algiers, Souk Ahras, Oum El Bouaghi, Skikda and Tizi Ouzou. These fires resulted in 01 person suffering third-degree burns following a fire inside an apartment on the second floor of a building consisting of (1st floor + 3rd floor) in the area called Diar El Mahsoul, El Madania municipality and Sidi M’hamed district in the province of Algiers. They also resulted in 01 person suffering minor burns and 01 other person being in a state of shock following a fire that broke out inside a garage located in a residence consisting of (1st floor + 3rd floor) in the area called Larbi Ben M’hidi neighborhood, Skikda municipality and district. The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred to local hospitals. Our emergency services’ intervention enabled us to control these fires and prevent their spread to other neighboring areas.
