Civil Protection Units intervention results between December 9 and 10, 2025 (in the last 24 hours)
During the period from December 9th to 10th, 2025 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,042 interventions (an average of one intervention every 28 seconds), including 2,401 medical evacuations and 448 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 149 incidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 6 people at the scene and injuries to 189 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in Tiaret province, where 2 people died and 3 others were injured in a collision between two vehicles on Provincial Road 77, in the municipality of Rchaiga, Hammadia district.
Civil Protection services in Ouargla province also intervened to provide first aid to 5 people suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a faulty water heater in their home in the Beni Ouakine neighborhood, Ouargla municipality and district. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported to the local hospital.
For your information, the Civil Protection intervened to extinguish six urban, industrial, and other fires in the provinces of Oran (one fire), Ain Temouchent (one fire), Batna (one fire), Constantine (one fire), El M’Ghair (one fire), and Tamanrasset (one fire). These fires resulted in six people suffering from respiratory distress following a fire that broke out in a sewing workshop located on the ground floor of a three-story building (floor + 3 floors) in the Martyrs’ Quarter, Batna Municipality and District. The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred to the local hospital. Our emergency services’ intervention enabled us to control these fires and prevent their spread to neighboring areas.
Civil Protection agents of the state of Tiaret also intervened following a city gas leak followed by an explosion on the first floor of a building consisting of (T+02), on Martyr Amar Ben Chehra Street, in the municipality and district of Mahdia. The incident resulted in (02) people being injured with various burns and one child being injured with a bruise. The victims were taken care of at the scene and then transferred to the local hospital.
