Weekly toll of civil protection units intervention between November 30 to December 6, 2025 2025 (weekly toll)

    

Between November 30 and December 6, 2025, Civil Protection units recorded 26,018 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.

Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 16,787 interventions, during which 16,577 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,064 interventions for 1,170 traffic accidents, resulting in 44 deaths and 1,420 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in the province of Beni Abbes, with 14 deaths at the scene and 35 injuries in four separate traffic accidents.

Civil Protection units also carried out 982 interventions, extinguishing 587 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (81 fires), Oran (33 fires), and Blida (30 fires).

In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 6,185 interventions across various operations, rescuing 493 people in danger and providing 5,332 emergency medical services.

Regarding incidents related to carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from various heating appliances and water heaters, the Civil Protection services carried out 56 interventions during the same period, providing first aid to 116 people poisoned by this dangerous gas who were transferred to hospitals, with the death of 8 people poisoned by carbon monoxide gas recorded in the provinces of Algiers (2 people), Ain Defla (2 people), Setif (2 people), Tiaret (1 person) and Batna (1 person).
