Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 14 and 20, 2026 (weekly results)

Between June 14 and 20, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 28,353 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,234 interventions, during which 13,871 injured and ill individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,756 interventions for 1,548 traffic accidents, resulting in 48 deaths and 1,883 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in the province of Sidi Bel Abbès, with 6 deaths at the scene and 34 injuries in 19 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also carried out 3,759 interventions, extinguishing 2,796 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (169 fires), Blida (145 fires), and Chlef (127 fires).
In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 7,604 interventions across various operations, rescuing 470 people in danger and providing 6,297 emergency medical services.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, it carried out 2,568 interventions, enabling the rescue of 1,649 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 750 people on site, in addition to transferring 156 people to local health centers. Thirteen people drowned at sea, and five drowned in water bodies.
Similarly, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 351 vegetation fires, including nine forest fires, 12 brush fires, 21 scrub fires, 173 crop fires, 31 fruit tree fires, 68 hay bale fires, and 37 palm tree fires, across several provinces of the country. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
