Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 24 and 27, 2026 (in the last 72 hours)

During the period from June 24 to 27, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 14,099 interventions, averaging one intervention every 18 seconds. These included 5,755 medical evacuations and 1,727 other operations, across several provinces of the country, following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 569 interventions following numerous accidents across the country. These accidents resulted in 14 deaths at the scene and injuries to 720 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection services intervened to extinguish 13 urban, industrial, and other fires in the following provinces: Algiers (3 fires), Bordj Bou Arreridj (2 fires), Oran (1 fire), Annaba (1 fire), Constantine (1 fire), Ain Temouchent (1 fire), Ain Defla (1 fire), Tiaret (1 fire), Sidi Bel Abbes (1 fire), and Medea (1 fire). These fires resulted in 7 people suffering from shortness of breath and 1 person in shock in Medea province; 7 people suffering from shortness of breath in Tiaret province; 5 people suffering from various burns in Bordj Bou Arreridj province; 2 children suffering from shortness of breath and 1 person suffering from minor burns in Oran province; 3 people suffering from various burns in Constantine province; and 1 woman suffering from difficulty breathing in Sidi Bel Abbes province. The victims were treated at the scene and then They were transferred to local health centers. Our emergency services intervened, enabling us to control these fires and prevent their spread to neighboring areas.
The Civil Protection services of Mascara province also intervened following the collapse of a wall during demolition work inside a residence in the area known as Qarchal Abdullah, El Hachem municipality, El Hachem district. The incident resulted in the death of one person. The victim was transferred to the morgue at Tighennif Hospital.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the last 72 hours, they carried out 2,189 interventions, which allowed for the rescue of 1,546 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 518 people on site, in addition to transferring 124 people to local health centers. Three drowning deaths were recorded at beaches in the provinces of Skikda, Ain Temouchent, and Bejaia. In Skikda province: one 17-year-old drowned at Kaf Fatima Beach 3 (a rocky area where swimming is prohibited), in the municipality and district of Ben Azzouz. In Ain Temouchent province: one 49-year-old drowned at the sea in the rocky area of the desalination plant (a beach where swimming is prohibited). In Bouzedjar municipality, El Amria district, Bejaia province: one 48-year-old drowned. A person drowned in the sea at Boulimat Beach (outside of lifeguard hours), in the municipality and district of Bejaia. The body was transferred to the morgue of the local hospital.
It should be noted that three deaths were recorded at water reservoirs in the provinces of Ain Defla, El Tarf, and Mascara. In Ain Defla province, a 17-year-old drowned in an irrigation basin in the area known as Boukaâ El Ababsa, in the municipality and district of El Abadia. In El Tarf province, a 12-year-old drowned in a pond in the village of Kabouda, in the municipality and district of Ibn M’hidi. In Mascara province, a 13-year-old drowned in the Sidi Slimane Dam, in the municipality and district of Bouhanifia. The bodies of the victims were transferred to the morgue of the local hospital.
Likewise, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 145 fires of vegetation, including: 3 forest fires, 2 bush fires, 16 scrub fires, 54 agricultural fires, 26 fruit tree fires, 32 hay bale fires and 12 palm fires, across several states of the national territory. It is worth mentioning that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to the rest of the vegetation.
