Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 3 and 4, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

During the period from June 3rd to 4th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,370 interventions, averaging one intervention every 25 seconds. These included 2,011 medical evacuations and 553 other operations, across several provinces of the country, following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 171 interventions following numerous accidents across the country. These accidents resulted in two (2) fatalities at the scene and injuries to 193 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals.
It should be noted that the Civil Protection services intervened to extinguish three separate urban fires in the provinces of Algiers, Laghouat, and Ghardaia. These fires resulted in injuries to five people, including burns. One fire broke out on the ground floor of a two-story building (floor + 1) in the city center of Ksar El Hirane municipality and district, Laghouat province. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transferred to the local hospital. The rapid intervention of our emergency services enabled them to control these fires and prevent their spread to neighboring areas.
Civil Protection services intervened to extinguish three separate urban fires in the provinces of Algiers, Laghouat, and Ghardaia. Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, they carried out 135 interventions, rescuing 108 people from imminent drowning and providing first aid to 19 people on site. Additionally, 7 people were transferred to local health centers. Two drowning deaths were recorded at beaches where swimming is prohibited in the provinces of Ain Temouchent and Mostaganem. In Ain Temouchent province, a 17-year-old drowned in the rocky area of Beni Saf municipality and district. In Mostaganem province, a 19-year-old drowned in the rocky area of Salamander Port, in Mostaganem municipality and district. The bodies of the victims were transferred to local hospitals.
Likewise, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 37 fires of vegetation, including: 1 bush fire, 1 scrubland fire, 24 agricultural crop fires, 2 fruit tree fires, 5 hay bale fires and 4 palm tree fires, across several states of the national territory. It is worth mentioning that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to the rest of the vegetation.
