Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 11 and March 12, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

During the period from March 11 to 12, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,440 interventions (an average of one intervention every 35 seconds), including 1,751 medical evacuations and 397 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
(Until 8:00 AM) In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 159 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 7 people at the scene and injuries to 166 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents were recorded in the province of Oran: 2 deaths and 4 injuries in two separate traffic accidents. The first accident involved a collision between a bus and a car on National Road No. 2, in the municipality and district of Boutlélis, resulting in 1 death and 3 injuries. The second accident involved a collision between a truck and a motorcycle on Provincial Road No. 41, in the municipality of Boufatis, district of Oued Tlelat, resulting in 1 death and 1 injury. In the province of Algiers, 1 person died after being struck by a car on the East-West Highway. West, Rouiba Municipality and District, Ghardaia Province: One person died and four others were injured in a collision between two trucks on National Route 1. Mansoura Municipality and District, Tiaret Province: One person died and one was injured in a collision between a truck and a car on National Route 40. Rchaïguia Municipality and Hamadia District, Biskra Province: One person died and one was injured in a collision between a truck and a car on National Route 46B. Melili Municipality and Ouroulal District, Djelfa Province: One person died and one was injured when a car veered off the road and overturned on National Route 1. Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to six people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. Five of the victims were in Saïda province and one in Tiaret province. The victims received initial treatment at the scene and were then transported to local health centers.

Regarding the results of the Civil Protection interventions related to the weather fluctuations, which affected the provinces of Bechar, Ghardaia, El Oued, El Bayadh and Ouargla, where the Civil Protection services intervened to rescue people in dangerous situations as well as carrying out 09 operations to pump out accumulated and leaked rainwater inside homes, Ghardaia province: removing a car trapped by accumulated rainwater with 05 people on board on the repeated road No. 105 in the municipality of El Atteuf, as well as removing an overturned truck from a waterway on National Road No. 124 following the rise in the level of the Houz Hissan valley in the municipality of El Guerrara, Bechar province: rescuing 03 people who were trapped inside a car due to the rise in the water of the Safaya valley on National Road No. 06 in the municipality of El Abadla, all the victims are in good condition.
