Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 10 and March 11, 2026 (within the last 24 hours)

During the period from March 10 to 11, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,575 interventions (an average of one intervention every 33 seconds), including 1,726 medical evacuations and 480 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, security operations, and weather-related incidents.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 176 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the death of two (2) people at the scene and injuries to 187 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The fatal accidents occurred in the following provinces: Medea Province: One person died following a collision between a car and a truck on the North-South Highway, within the municipality and district of Medea; and Tizi Ouzou Province: One person died after being struck by a car on National Route 12, within the municipality and district of Tizi Ouzou.
Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to eight people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. The incidents occurred in Blida (4 people), Constantine (3 people), and Relizane (1 person). The victims were treated at the scene and then transported to local health centers.

Regarding the results of the Civil Protection interventions related to the heavy rains that affected the provinces of Algiers, Sidi Bel Abbes, Relizane and Medea, where the Civil Protection services intervened to absorb the accumulated and leaked rainwater inside homes, the province of Algiers: absorbing rainwater in the center of the town square of Bir Mourad Raïs municipality, the province of Sidi Bel Abbes: partial collapse of the roof of a room in a house in the place called Qamra Cheikh Street in the municipality of Sidi Lahcen, as well as carrying out 02 operations to absorb rainwater in the municipalities of Oued Sefioune and Ras El Ma, the province of Relizane: absorbing rainwater from inside 06 basements of buildings in the municipality of Relizane, and also in the province of Medea: absorbing the accumulated water following the rainfall inside 03 houses in the municipality of Ksar El Boukhari, it should be noted that no losses were recorded.
