Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 21 and 22, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

   

During the period from March 21 to 22, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,497 interventions (an average of one intervention every 34 seconds), including 1,796 medical evacuations and 334 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 273 incidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in three fatalities at the scene and injuries to 381 others, ranging in severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in Souk Ahras province, where one person died and three others sustained injuries in a collision between two passenger vehicles in the Bouchehda area of ​​the municipality and district of Ouled Driss.

It should be noted that the traffic accident toll recorded by Civil Protection units during the two days of Eid al-Fitr was as follows:

– On the first day of Eid al-Fitr, 10 people died at the scene, and 348 others sustained injuries of varying severity.

On the second day of Eid al-Fitr, three (3) people died at the scene of accidents, and 381 others sustained injuries of varying severity.

As a reminder, since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, the Civil Protection units have recorded 8,462 interventions following 4,741 accidents, including 139 fatal traffic accidents, which resulted in the deaths of 166 people at the scene and injuries to 8,668 others.

Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to five (5) people who had suffocated from inhaling butane gas inside a house in the village of Ait Arhouna, Azefoun municipality and district. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported to the local hospital.

Also, the Civil Protection services of the state of Blida intervened following a fire that broke out in a residential room of a building consisting of (T+4) located in the 630 housing complex, municipality and district of Bougara. The fire resulted in (03) people suffering from shortness of breath and (02) others in a state of panic. The victims were taken care of at the scene and then transferred to the local hospital.
