Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 7 and March 8, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

 

    

During the period from March 7th to 8th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,422 interventions (an average of one intervention every 35 seconds), including 1,611 medical evacuations and 350 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
Civil Protection units responded to a wide range of calls for assistance from citizens across several provinces of the country. In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 162 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 7 people at the scene and injuries to 169 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents were recorded in the following provinces: Tebessa: 1 death and 2 injuries, following a car veering off the road and overturning on the El-Ogla El-Malha road, Bir El-Ater municipality and district; Constantine: 1 death, following a car veering off the road and overturning in the new city of Ali Mendjeli, El-Kharroub municipality and district; Setif: 1 death, following a truck veering off the road on Route 28, Rasfa municipality, Salah Bey district; Boumerdes: 1 death, struck by a car in the Ben Dhenoun area, Khemis El-Khechna municipality and district; Batna: 1 death. One person was run over by a train in the Hammadi neighborhood, Ain Touta municipality and district, Biskra province: One person died after being run over by a car on the Marmoutha neighborhood road, Liwa municipality, Ourlal district, Annaba province: One person died after being run over by a car in the Orange neighborhood, Annaba municipality and district.
