Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 8 and March 9, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

During the period from March 8th to 9th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,565 interventions (an average of one intervention every 33 seconds), including 1,849 medical evacuations and 355 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

(Until 8:00 AM) In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 181 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 10 people at the scene and injuries to 200 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents were recorded in the following provinces: Setif: Two (2) people died in a collision between two trucks and a passenger car on the East-West Highway, Setif municipality and district; Timimoun: Two (2) people died in a collision between a truck and a motorcycle at the location known as Ksar Tientas, Tinarkouk municipality and district; Ain Defla: One person died and three others were injured in a collision between a passenger car and a truck on the East-West Highway, El Hassania municipality, Boumedfaa district; and Skikda: One person died. One person was injured when a truck veered off the road and fell down a mountain slope in the area known as Sidi Idris, Beni Oulbane municipality, Sidi Mezghiche district, Mostaganem province. One person died in a collision between a passenger car and a truck on Highway 60A, Oued El Kheir municipality, Ain Tedles district, Bordj Bou Arreridj province. One person died in a collision between two cars on Provincial Road 141, Ouled Brahim municipality, Ras El Oued district, Mila province. One person died after a truck ran over a bicycle in the 412 Housing Complex, Tadjenanet municipality and district, Boumerdes province. One person died in a chain reaction collision between one truck and four cars on the East-West Highway, Larbaâtaach municipality, Khemis El Khechna district.
