Civil Protection Units intervention results between May 3 and 4, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

During the period from May 3rd to 4th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,123 interventions (an average of one intervention every 27 seconds), including 2,218 medical evacuations and 471 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
Civil Protection units responded to various calls for assistance from citizens across several provinces of the country. In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 202 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of two people at the scene and injuries to 441 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents occurred in Boumerdès Province, where a woman was killed after being struck by a car inside the bus station in the municipality and district of Bordj Menaïel, and in Relizane Province, where a person was killed after being struck by a truck at Douar El Hadjra, in the municipality of El Kalaa, district of Yellel.
For your information, Civil Protection elements intervened to extinguish (02) fires in both Skikda Province and El Oued Province. In Skikda Province, the first fire broke out inside a ground-floor house located in the area called Baghlia, in the municipality and district of El Hadaik, causing 03 people to suffer from shortness of breath. They were treated at the scene and then transferred to the local hospital. In El Oued Province, the second fire broke out in a plastic greenhouse used for raising poultry in the area called El Attallah, in the municipality of En Nakhla, district of Er Rabah, without any human casualties. Our emergency services intervened to control these fires and prevent their spread to other neighboring areas.
