Civil Protection Units intervention results between May 31 and June 6, 2026 (weekly results)

Between May 31 and June 6, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 27,364 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,283 interventions, during which 13,927 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 2,700 interventions for 1,557 traffic accidents, resulting in 38 deaths and 1,890 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest toll was recorded in Chlef province, with 3 deaths at the scene and 91 injuries in 72 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also carried out 3,439 interventions, extinguishing 2,470 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The highest number of fires were recorded in Setif province (130 fires), Batna (103 fires), and Oran (101 fires).
In addition, during the same period, our units carried out 6,942 interventions in various operations, rescuing 479 people in danger and providing 6,005 emergency medical services.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, they carried out 1,060 interventions, rescuing 799 people from imminent drowning and providing first aid to 181 people on site. Additionally, 7 people were transferred to local health centers. Four drowning deaths were recorded at beaches where swimming is prohibited: two in Oran, one in Mostaganem, and one in Ain Temouchent.
Likewise, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 251 fires of vegetation cover, including 4 forest fires, 3 bush fires, 10 scrubland fires, 145 agricultural crop fires, 26 fruit tree fires, 31 hay bale fires and 32 palm tree fires, across several states of the national territory. It is worth mentioning that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to the rest of the vegetation cover.
