In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 353 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in 12 deaths at the scene and injuries to 432 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in Tiaret province, where four people died and two others were injured in a collision between two vehicles on Provincial Road 77, in the municipality of Rchaïguia, Hammadia district. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transferred to the local polyclinic.
Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to five (5) people suffering from the onset of asphyxiation due to inhaling carbon monoxide (CO) gas emitted from heating appliances and water heaters in their homes in the following provinces: Setif (3 people), Constantine (1 person), and Medea (1 person). The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred in stable condition to local health centers.
Civil Protection personnel in M’Sila province also intervened to rescue and provide first aid to four (4) children (three girls and one boy) aged between 10 and 18 years old, after they fell into the “Qasbah” valley and were swept away by the flash floods in the municipality and district of M’Sila.
The children were then transferred to the local hospital. In addition to the intervention of the Civil Protection services in Mostaganem province to recover and transport the body of a child who drowned in the Wadi Kramis dam in the municipality of Ouled Boughalem, Achaacha district, the victim’s body was transferred to the morgue of the local hospital.
