Civil Protection Units intervention results between October 10 and 11, 2026 (in the last 24 hours)

Between October 10 and 11, 2026 (up to 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units carried out 2,670 interventions—averaging one intervention every 32 seconds—across various provinces in response to distress calls from citizens. These operations covered the full spectrum of Civil Protection activities, including responses to traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and general safety operations.

Regarding traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 200 incidents across the country. These accidents resulted in three fatalities at the scene and injuries to 228 others, with varying degrees of severity. Victims received on-site care and were transported by our teams to local hospitals. The most severe accidents occurred in the provinces of M’Sila, Annaba, and Béchar. In M’Sila, one person died and another was injured after a vehicle veered off the road and overturned on the “Road of Al-Arraba” in Barhoum Municipality (Magra District). In Annaba, one person died after a vehicle veered off the road and overturned on National Road No. 21 in El Hadjar Municipality (El Hadjar District). In Béchar, one person died after a motorcycle veered off the road and collided with a utility pole in the Ghraassa neighborhood (Béchar Municipality and District). Civil Protection personnel in M’Sila Province intervened following a fire that broke out in a poultry house in the Ouled Said area (Dhahna Municipality, Magra District). No casualties were reported; rapid intervention allowed the fire to be extinguished and prevented it from spreading to the rest of the facility.

Additionally, during the same period, forest and crop firefighting units responded to seven vegetation fires across various provinces—specifically involving fruit trees (two incidents), hay bales (four incidents), and a palm tree (one incident). The rapid and effective intervention of our teams successfully extinguished these fires and prevented them from spreading to surrounding vegetation.
