Forest Fires

A fire occurs if the following elements are present: 

  Fuel (plant cover).

 Heat (spark or flame).

 Oxygen.

These elements, when combined, form what is called the fire triangle.

Before the fire

– Remove flammable materials surrounding the house

– Identify evacuation routes and shelters

– Provide firefighting equipment (water points and pumps)

During the fire

– Call Civil Defense on 14

Close all windows and doors

Place wet towels and blankets around window and door frames

Wet vegetation near your home

Breathe into a damp cloth
