Lieutenant Colonel Nadir Belakroum, Director of Civil Protection for Ouargla Province, is participating in the activities of the International Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction and Strengthening Resilience in Africa, held in the Mozambican capital, Maputo, during the period from 13 to 15 October 2026.
This landmark event is jointly organized by the African Union Commission and the Government of the Republic of Mozambique in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) under the high patronage of the President of the Republic of Mozambique, Mr. Daniel Francesco Chapo, in his capacity as African Union Champion for Disaster Risk Management.
This conference is held under the slogan “Towards expanding proactive governance and strategic investment to reduce disaster risks and build a resilient Africa”; The participation of the Algerian Civil Protection representative falls within the context of strengthening continental cooperation, exchanging field and technical expertise to build integrated proactive strategies, and supporting early warning systems to protect African communities and secure their sustainable development against the risks of climate change and natural disasters
