The General Directorate of Civil Protection and the Embassy of the United States of America in Algeria sign an agreement for a training program in specialized English

In the context of strengthening bilateral cooperation and developing human resource capabilities, Colonel Miloud Rami, Deputy Director of Training at the General Directorate of Civil Protection, along with the Regional Security Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Algeria, and in the presence of the Director of Prevention, the Director of Organization and Operations Coordination, the Deputy Director of Information and Awareness, the Commander of the National Training and Intervention Unit, the Commander of the Air Group, and a delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Algeria, oversaw the signing ceremony of an agreement for a specialized English language training program for Civil Protection personnel.

This program aims to develop and enhance the English language skills of Civil Protection personnel, particularly those involved in international emergency and disaster response operations, as well as personnel of the Civil Protection Air Group. This will contribute to improving communication and coordination capabilities within international cooperation mechanisms in the field of civil protection and disaster management.

This program is the culmination of ongoing coordination and cooperation between the General Directorate of Civil Protection and the U.S. Embassy in Algeria in the areas of training and knowledge exchange. It falls within the framework of efforts to enhance the language skills of personnel whose field, operational, and communication duties require proficiency in English, particularly in the context of international relief operations, joint exercises and drills, and multinational crisis and disaster management interventions.

The launch of this project was preceded by an assessment of the English language skills and knowledge of a number of sector employees. This assessment included, in particular, members of urban search and rescue teams, air unit personnel, and other professional categories involved in communication and coordination with international partners and organizations.

This program reflects the General Directorate of Civil Protection’s commitment to investing in human resources as the cornerstone of performance improvement and operational readiness. This is achieved through supporting continuous training and strengthening professional and linguistic skills, in accordance with internationally recognized standards for emergency and disaster response.

This cooperation also reflects the shared will of both parties to expand the areas of partnership and exchange experiences and knowledge, in order to serve the goals of modernizing and upgrading the civil protection sector, and enhancing its capabilities to face various humanitarian and operational challenges and tasks at the national and international levels.
