The official launch of the national awareness campaign to prevent dangers related to the winter season in the state of Tissemsilt under the slogan “Safe Winter… With constant awareness”

As part of the annual program for risk prevention and public awareness established by the General Directorate of Civil Protection, the Secretary-General of Tissemsilt Province—accompanied by the Sub-Director of Information and Awareness from the General Directorate and the Provincial Director of Civil Protection—oversaw the official launch of the national awareness campaign regarding winter-related hazards across the country.

The campaign aims to foster a culture of prevention among citizens and raise awareness about various risks associated with the winter season—particularly carbon monoxide poisoning and flooding—by disseminating information and instilling preventive behaviors that safeguard lives and property.

The campaign program includes “open house” events, community outreach caravans, and field inspections of heating appliances in coordination with relevant partners. It also entails intensified awareness activities in educational institutions, mosques, vocational training centers, and universities, alongside the use of media outlets and social media platforms to widely disseminate safety messages.

In this context, the General Directorate of Civil Protection urges all citizens to adhere to safety guidelines, ensure proper home ventilation, and perform regular maintenance on heating appliances. It also emphasizes the need to avoid the risk of crossing wadis and watercourses during adverse weather conditions and to heed weather bulletins and warnings issued by competent authorities.

Prevention is everyone’s responsibility; through our awareness and commitment, we protect our own lives and the lives of others.
