In the context of strengthening cooperation between the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and the Czech Republic, particularly in the field of civil protection and major risk management, a delegation from the Czech Republic’s Fire and Rescue Service, headed by Director General General Vladimir Vlečík, will pay a working visit to Algeria from November 7 to 10, 2025, at the invitation of the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughelouf.

This visit follows up on Colonel Boughelouf’s working visit to the Czech Republic in December 2024, accompanied by senior officials from the Directorate General, which laid the foundations for a constructive partnership between the two institutions.

This visit reflects the shared commitment to enhancing the exchange of technical expertise and strengthening bilateral coordination mechanisms by observing the operational capabilities, coordination systems, and training infrastructure of the Algerian Civil Protection. It also aims to deepen the exchange of best practices in the prevention and effective management of natural, industrial, and technological disasters. The Czech delegation will be received at the National Training and Intervention Unit headquarters by the Director General, Colonel Boualem Boughelouf, who will provide them with a detailed presentation on the sector’s administrative and operational structure, as well as on the specialized civil protection teams and the field experiences Algeria has gained both domestically and internationally. The two sides will also exchange experiences and expertise with the operational teams regarding emergency response and intervention methods.

The delegation will then proceed to the General Directorate of Civil Protection headquarters to visit the National Operational Coordination Center, where they will receive a presentation on operational management procedures and the digital platforms used in intervention and coordination.

On the final day of the visit, the two sides will travel to Bouira Province to observe a field exercise for urban search and rescue teams. This exercise aims to prepare for the classification of support and initial intervention teams in the central provinces of the country according to international standards.

This visit will facilitate the exchange of expertise and the comparison of approaches in the areas of prevention, early warning, and crisis management, in addition to exploring new avenues for technical and operational cooperation between the two sides. This initiative embodies the shared will to build open and sustainable practical cooperation between the two institutions, aimed at raising the level of preparedness and enhancing the ability to face new challenges, especially those related to climate change and major disasters.

As part of the ongoing visit of the Czech Republic’s Fire and Rescue Service delegation to Algeria, the Director General of Civil Protection, Colonel Boualem Boughelouf, accompanied by the Director General of the Czech Republic’s Fire and Rescue Service, General Vladimir Vlečík, and his delegation, visited the Civil Protection Directorate of Ghardaia Province – Main Unit today.
