Weekly report on the intervention of the Civil Protection Units between December 21 and 27, 2025 (Weekly Report)

During the period from December 21 to 27, 2025, civil protection units recorded 23,425 interventions following the receipt of distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, domestic incidents, health evacuation, fire extinguishing, or security services’ coverage of various demonstrations.

Regarding health evacuation operations, our units carried out 13,826 interventions, during which 13,560 wounded and sick people were treated and evacuated to hospitals by civil protection agents.

 In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection Units intervened in 1,118 traffic accidents in 1977, which led to the death of 37 people and the injury of 1,294 others who were treated and transferred to hospitals. The heaviest toll was recorded in the state of Bouira, with the death of 3 people at the scene of the accidents and the injury of 48 others as a result of 32 traffic accidents.

 The Civil Protection Units also carried out 824 interventions that allowed the extinguishing of 475 fires, including domestic, industrial and various fires, the most important of which were recorded in the state of Algiers with 76 fires, Blida with 31 fires and Oran with 29 fires.

  In addition, during the same period, our units in the field of various operations carried out 6,798 interventions in order to rescue 512 people in danger and cover 5,850 ambulance operations.

  Regarding accidents related to carbon monoxide (Co) poisoning emitted from various heating and water heaters, the Civil Protection services carried out 62 interventions during the same period, which allowed the provision of first aid to 157 people poisoned with carbon monoxide (Co) gas, who were then transferred to hospitals, with the death of 7 people poisoned with carbon monoxide gas recorded in each of the states of Tiaret 02 people, Laghouat 01 person, Oum El Bouaghi 01 person, Mila 01 person, Sidi Bel Abbes 01 person and Setif Province 01 person died.
