Civil Protection Units intervention results between April 7 and 8, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

 During the period from April 7 to 8, 2026 (until 8:00 am), civil protection units recorded 3,298 interventions at a rate of (01 intervention every 26 seconds), including 2,198 health evacuations and 535 different operations, across several states of the country, following receiving distress calls from citizens. These interventions included various areas of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, domestic accidents, health evacuations, Fire suppression, as well as security services.
In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection Units carried out 192 interventions following several accidents recorded across several states of the country, which left 4 people dead at the scene of the accidents and 193 others injured with various and varying degrees of severity. The victims were taken care of on the spot and transferred by our services to local hospitals The heaviest toll recorded in Tiaret province was the death of (02) people and the injury of 01 others, as a result of a collision between a car and a truck, on National Road No. 43, Mahdia Municipality and District.
Civil protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 5 people who were suffocating as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide (CO) gas emitted from heating devices and water heaters inside their homes. In both the states of Tipaza, 3 people were recorded, and in the state of Mila (2) people were recorded. The victims were taken care of on the spot and transferred in stable condition to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection Units intervened to extinguish 4 different urban fires in the provinces of Algiers, Tipaza, Mostaganem and Biskra. These fires left 28 people with shortness of breath in the province of Mostaganem, as well as 2 people with difficulty breathing and 2 others in a state of shock in the province of Biskra, and 2 people with first- and third-degree burns in the province of Tipaza The intervention of our services made it possible to control these fires and prevent them from spreading to other neighboring places.
Also, the civil protection services of Oum El Bouaghi province intervened following a public works vehicle overturning on two cars, in the Houari Boumediene neighborhood, Oum El Bouaghi municipality and district, causing the death of (02) people and the injury of 06 others in a state of shock. The victims were transferred to the local hospital.
