Civil Protection Units intervention results between April 8 and 9, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)
During the period from April 8 to 9, 2026 (until 8:00 am), civil protection units recorded 3,371 interventions at a rate of (01 intervention every 25 seconds), including 2,521 health evacuations and 456 different operations, across several states of the country, following receiving distress calls from citizens. These interventions included various areas of civil protection activities, whether related to traffic accidents, domestic accidents, health evacuations, Fire suppression, as well as security services.
In the context of traffic accidents, the Civil Protection Units carried out 194 interventions following several accidents recorded across several states of the country, which left 3 people dead at the scene of the accidents and 227 others injured with various and varying degrees of severity. The victims were taken care of on the spot and transferred by our services to local hospitals. The bloodiest accidents were recorded in the states of Chlef, Tipaza and Touggourt, Chlef State: 01 person died and 01 others were injured, as a result of a collision between a car and a motorcycle, at the level of National Road No. 04, Wadi Sli Municipality and Boukadir District, Tipaza Province: 01 person died, as a result of a car swerving and colliding with a tree, at the level of National Road No. 69, Shuaiba Municipality and Qalaia District, Touggourt Province: 01 person died As a result of a motorcycle swerving and colliding with a palm tree At the level of State Road No. 306, Zawiyat Al-Abbadiyah Municipality and Touggourt District.
Civil protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 5 people who were suffocating as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide (Co) gas emitted from heating devices and water heaters inside their homes. In Annaba Province, (02) people were recorded, Skikda Province (02) people, and Blida Province 01 people. The victims were taken care of on the spot and transferred in stable condition to local hospitals.
For your information, the Civil Protection Units intervened to extinguish 02 urban fires in each of the states of Sidi Bel Abbes and Khenchela. These fires left 01 person with shortness of breath, as a result of a fire that broke out inside the kitchen of a house located on the ground floor of a building consisting of (TA + 05), in the 150 Maskan neighborhood, Sidi Bel Abbes municipality and district, The intervention of our services made it possible to control these two fires and prevent them from spreading to other neighboring places.
