Civil Protection Units intervention results between December 13 and 14, 2025 (in the last 24 hours)
During the period from December 13 to 14, 2025 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,138 interventions (an average of one intervention every 27 seconds), including 1,987 medical evacuations and 403 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 171 incidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 3 people at the scene and injuries to 186 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site medical attention and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents occurred in the provinces of Relizane, Bouira, and Bordj Badji Mokhtar. In Relizane, one person died when a tractor veered off the road in the Taqlouat area of El Kettar municipality and Mazouna district. In Bouira, one person died in a collision between a motorcycle and a tractor on National Route 5 in Bouira municipality and district. In Bordj Badji Mokhtar, one person died in a collision between a motorcycle and a truck in the Abdelkader Djilali neighborhood of Timiaouine municipality and Bordj Badji Mokhtar district.
Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to 19 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. The affected individuals were located in Tlemcen (7 people), El Bayadh (5 people), Djelfa (4 people), and Constantine (3 people). The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported to local hospitals.
Civil Protection also responded to three separate urban fires in Blida, Illizi, and Tamanrasset provinces. These fires resulted in seven people suffering from respiratory distress in Blida province. The fire broke out in a second-floor apartment of a five-story building (ground floor + 5 floors) in the 300-unit housing complex in Larbaa. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported to the local hospital. Civil Protection intervention successfully contained the fires and prevented their spread to neighboring areas.
The Civil Protection services of the state of Setif carried out a rescue operation for 03 young men aged between 17 and 18 years old who were on a picnic, trapped on a mountain slope in the Babur Mountain in the municipality and district of Babur, where they were found in a state of exhaustion and fatigue. They were taken care of on site and transferred to the local health clinic. The search and rescue team in rugged areas, 01 first rescue truck and 01 ambulance were deployed.
