Civil Protection Units intervention results between December 7 and 8, 2025 (during the last 24 hours)
During the period from December 7th to 8th, 2025 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,185 interventions (an average of one intervention every 27 seconds), including 2,417 medical evacuations and 446 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 174 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 5 people at the scene and injuries to 207 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious accidents were recorded in the provinces of Skikda, El Tarf, M’Sila, El Oued, and Ain Defla. In Skikda province, 1 person died and 16 others were injured in a collision between a car and a passenger bus on the East-West Highway in the municipality and district of El Harrouch. In El Tarf province, 1 person died after being struck by a car on National Route 84 in the area known as Sejra, in the municipality and district of Ben M’hidi. In M’Sila province, 1 person died after being struck by a car in the area known as Kharmam, in the municipality and district of Boussaâda. In El Oued province, 1 person died and another was injured in a collision between a car and another vehicle. A passenger bus and a truck collided on National Route 16 in the municipality and district of Oum El Bouaghi, Ain Defla Province. One person died in a separate collision between a car and a truck on National Route 4 in Sidi Bouabida, municipality and district of El Attaf.
Civil Protection services in Oum El Bouaghi Province also intervened to transport the bodies of two women (aged 45 and 74) who died from carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a heater in a house in the Boughalem Mohamed neighborhood of Oum El Bouaghi. The bodies were transferred to the morgue at the local hospital.
