Civil Protection Units intervention results between February 3 and 4, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

During the period from February 3rd to 4th, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,257 interventions (an average of one intervention every 26 seconds), including 2,271 medical evacuations and 542 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 148 incidents across several provinces nationwide. These accidents resulted in 5 fatalities at the scene and injuries to 148 others, ranging in severity. The victims received initial treatment at the scene and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in the province of Djanet, where 1 person died and 5 others sustained various injuries following a collision between two vehicles on National Route 3, within the municipality and district of Djanet.

Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to two individuals suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning from a heating appliance in a house in the province of Medea. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported in stable condition to the local hospital.

For your information, the Civil Protection intervened to extinguish 04 urban and various fires in the provinces of Algiers (02) two fires, Annaba (01) fire and Batna (01) fire, where these fires caused (02) people to suffer from shortness of breath in the province of Algiers, following a fire that broke out inside shops in the popular market, the municipality of Casbah, Bab El Oued district. The two victims were treated at the scene and transferred to the local hospital, where our services deployed 13 intervention teams, including 09 fire trucks, 01 mechanical ladder truck, 01 search and intervention team in difficult areas and (02) ambulances. Our intervention made it possible to control these fires and prevent their spread to other neighboring areas.
