Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 28 and July 4, 2026 (weekly results)

Between June 28 and July 4, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 31,354 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,307 interventions, during which 13,857 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 2,293 incidents involving 1,308 traffic accidents, resulting in 28 deaths and 1,644 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest number of casualties was recorded in the province of Tamanrasset, with 6 deaths at the scene and 37 injuries in 11 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also carried out 4,372 interventions, extinguishing 2,972 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in the provinces of Algiers (283 fires), Constantine (158 fires), and Annaba (148 fires).
Furthermore, during the same period, our units carried out 10,382 interventions across various operations, rescuing 498 people in danger and providing 8,304 emergency medical services.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, it carried out 6,415 interventions, enabling the rescue of 4,665 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 1,494 people on site, in addition to transferring 250 people to local health centers. Fourteen people drowned at sea, and five drowned in water bodies.
Similarly, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 363 vegetation fires, including 11 forest fires, 10 brush fires, 33 scrubland fires, 153 crop fires, 44 fruit tree fires, 84 hay bale fires, and 28 palm tree fires, across several provinces of the country. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
