Civil Protection Units intervention results between June 7 and 13, 2026 (weekly results)

Between June 7th and 13th, 2026, Civil Protection units recorded 32,229 interventions following distress calls from citizens. These interventions covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and providing security coverage for various events.
Regarding medical evacuations, our units carried out 14,378 interventions, during which 13,999 injured and sick individuals were treated and transported to hospitals by Civil Protection personnel.
In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 2,778 incidents involving 1,564 traffic accidents, resulting in 39 deaths and 1,925 injuries. The injured were treated and transported to hospitals. The highest number of casualties was recorded in Annaba province, with 4 deaths at the scene and 47 injuries in 41 traffic accidents.
Civil Protection units also responded to 2,976 incidents, extinguishing 2,192 fires, including residential, industrial, and other types of fires. The most significant fires were recorded in Algiers province (148 fires), Constantine (95 fires), and Setif (88 fires).
Furthermore, during the same period, our units carried out 12,097 interventions across various operations, rescuing 594 people in danger and providing 9,003 emergency medical services.
Regarding the interventions of the Coast Guard and Recreation Service during the same period, it carried out 1,749 interventions, enabling the rescue of 1,277 people from imminent drowning, as well as providing first aid to 379 people on site, in addition to transferring 89 people to local health centers. Eight people drowned at sea, and five drowned in water bodies.
Similarly, the Forest and Agricultural Firefighting Service intervened during the same period to extinguish 244 vegetation fires, including four forest fires, one bush fire, seven scrubland fires, 136 crop fires, 16 fruit tree fires, 45 hay bale fires, and 35 palm tree fires, across several provinces of the country. It is worth noting that the rapid and effective intervention of our services allowed us to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other vegetation.
