Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 12 and March 14, 2026 (within the last 48 hours)

 

    

Between March 12 and 14, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 4,817 interventions (an average of one intervention every 35 seconds), including 3,190 medical evacuations and 711 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.

In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units carried out 342 interventions following numerous accidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in the deaths of 9 people at the scene and injuries to 413 others, with varying degrees of severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most fatal accidents occurred in the provinces of Mila and Setif. In Mila province, 2 people died in a collision between a car and a truck on National Road 5, in the municipality and district of Tellaghma. In Setif province, 2 people died in two separate traffic accidents. The first accident involved a person struck by a car on National Road 75, in the municipality and district of Setif. The second accident also resulted in the death of a person struck by a car on National Road 77, in the municipality of Bazer Sakra, district of El Eulma.

Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to 11 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. The incidents occurred in the provinces of Relizane (4 people), Naâma (2 people), Djelfa (2 people), Constantine (1 person), Mascara (1 person), and Oum El Bouaghi (1 person). The victims were treated at the scene and then transported to local health centers.

For your information, the Civil Protection units intervened to extinguish 07 urban and various fires in the provinces of: Algiers (3 fires), Tiaret (1 fire), Tebessa (1 fire), Tizi Ouzou (1 fire), and Bouira (1 fire). These fires resulted in injuries to 02 people and 01 woman suffering from shortness of breath in the province of Algiers, as well as injuries to 04 people with various burns in the province of Tiaret, and also injuries to 01 person suffering from shortness of breath and 01 other person in the province of Tizi Ouzou, in addition to injuries to 01 person with various burns in the province of Bouira. The victims were treated at the scene and then transferred to local hospitals. The intervention of our services made it possible to extinguish these fires and prevent their spread to other neighboring areas.
