Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 14 and March 15, 2026 (during the last 24 hours)

During the period from March 14 to 15, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 2,429 interventions (an average of one intervention every 35 seconds), including 1,545 medical evacuations and 340 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, and security operations.
Civil Protection units responded to a wide range of calls for assistance from citizens across several provinces of the country. In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 210 incidents across several provinces of the country. These accidents resulted in 6 fatalities at the scene and 306 injuries of varying severity. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported by our services to local hospitals. The deadliest accident occurred in the province of M’Sila, where 5 people died and 38 were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on National Road 46 in the area known as “Merdoud,” within the municipality and district of Ben Srour. Our services deployed 8 intervention teams to this incident, including 7 ambulances and 1 rescue truck. In the province of Ouargla, 1 person died and 8 others sustained various injuries in a collision between a passenger bus and a semi-trailer truck on National Road 3, within the municipality and district of Hassi Messaoud.
Civil Protection services intervened to provide first aid to six people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. Five of the victims were in El Bayadh province and one in Medea province. The victims were treated at the scene and then transported to local hospitals.

Regarding the interventions of the Civil Protection services related to the weather fluctuations, specifically the rainfall during the last 24 hours, which affected various provinces of the country, such as Blida, Medea and Tissemsilt, in the province of Medea: our services intervened due to the collapse of a wall surrounding a house, which resulted in the injury of 01 person with various injuries, in the place called Ain El Beida, Amaria municipality, where the victim was treated at the scene and transferred to the local health center. In the province of Blida: our services carried out an operation to pump out the accumulated rainwater from the entrance of a building in the 750 housing complex in Chiffa municipality. As for the province of Tissemsilt: our services carried out an operation to pump out the accumulated rainwater from the entrance of a building in the 140 housing complex in El Merdja in Tissemsilt municipality.
