Civil Protection Units intervention results between March 28 and 29, 2026 (within the last 24 hours)

During the period from March 28 to 29, 2026 (until 8:00 AM), Civil Protection units recorded 3,000 interventions (an average of one intervention every 29 seconds), including 1,912 medical evacuations and 368 other operations, across several provinces of the country. These interventions followed distress calls from citizens and covered various areas of Civil Protection activity, including traffic accidents, domestic accidents, medical evacuations, firefighting, severe weather, and security operations.
Civil Protection units responded to a wide range of calls for assistance from citizens across several provinces of the country. In the context of traffic accidents, Civil Protection units responded to 188 incidents across several provinces nationwide. These accidents resulted in 4 fatalities at the scene and 257 injuries of varying severity. The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported by our services to local hospitals. The most serious incident occurred in El Oued province, where 1 person died and 4 others were injured in a collision between two trucks on National Route 48, in the municipality of Reguiba, El Hamraya district.
Civil Protection services also intervened to provide first aid to 8 people suffering from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning due to faulty heating appliances and water heaters in their homes. These incidents occurred in Jijel province (4 people), Khenchela province (3 people), and Blida province (1 person). The victims received on-site treatment and were then transported in stable condition to local health centers.
For your information, Civil Protection units intervened to extinguish two urban fires in the provinces of Relizane and Annaba. One woman suffered respiratory distress following a fire that broke out in a first-floor apartment of a five-story building (ground floor + 5 floors) located in the Bousnan Saleh neighborhood of the municipality and district of Ammi Moussa, Relizane province. The victim received on-site treatment and was then transferred to the local hospital. Our emergency services successfully contained these fires and prevented their spread to neighboring areas.
Regarding the interventions of the Civil Protection services related to the weather fluctuations witnessed in the provinces of Bouira, Tizi Ouzou, Bechar and Beni Abbes, our services in the province of Bechar extracted a stuck car with 01 person on board due to the high water level of Wadi Al-Atchan in the municipality of Bechar, in addition to extracting a stuck car due to the high water level of Wadi Arit in the municipality of Lahmar. The Civil Protection services of the province of Bechar also carried out several operations to pump out rainwater that had seeped into homes in 03 neighborhoods in the municipality of Bechar, namely: Al-Fursan neighborhood, Al-Shu’un Al-Diniya neighborhood and February 18 neighborhood, without recording any losses.
